You should care about this because trans people are human beings with inalienable human rights, but even if you don't, you should care about this for your own personal safety

First they violate the rights of a group they think no one will fight for, and then they come for the rest of us

no one who follows me will be shocked by this. this is why you cede no ground. you defend trans people in your day to day life, to your coworkers, to your boss, to your family, to strangers. you must be brave and tireless because it is what must be done

Honestly? Trans issues matter because trans people matter full stop.
