There are still houses in parts of Kamloops that were built a room at a time. Many other houses, including my 80 year old house, have basements that were hand dug well after the main floor was built. Still standing.

Weather/climate

I drove from Kamloops to Burns Lake and back this week. Staying most of the week between BL and Prince George.

Above freezing the whole way north. Only one lake frozen, all others had water on top, some were partially melted.

Snow on the ground began only at McLeese Lake.

Statement: $5 Billion in Transit Cuts a Huge Step Backwards - Environmental Defence Statement from Sam Hersh, Clean Transportation Program Manager Ottawa | Traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg People – Cutting $5

The federal government is eager to build pipelines under the guise of β€˜nation building,’ while slashing $5B from transit. This is a major divestment from our national future. Carney’s defunding the very systems that connect communities, reduce emissions, and make life affordable. This is backwards!

BAT ASSAULT: Kamloops man accused of beating teen won't appear for pre-trial hearing Kristopher Teichrieb's preliminary inquiry is expected to begin next week

At last week’s Conservative convention, delegates voted for a future Conservative govt to pass legislation to β€œshield Canadians from criminal prosecution if they act "decisively" against someone who comes into their home uninvited”. All I can think of is Jesse Simpson. infotel.ca/newsitem/bat...

Vancouver overdose prevention site closes less than 2 years after relocation | CBC News A Vancouver overdose prevention site has closed less than two years after it moved from its previous location, raising concerns among health officials and harm reduction advocates as the province sees...

People won’t stop using because a supervised consumption site closes.
They’ll just use unsafe drugs in unsafe places.

I thought communities wanted to reduce the amount of public drug use? This will definitely makes it worse!

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU CELEBRATE.
