I don't think directors having some leeway against a hard payline is bad. I think the administration reaching into institutes to affect funding decisions is bad.

I realize it's important service, but I'm not gonna lie. It's getting hard to accept NIH study section requests when 1) they aren't funding basically anything and 2) it seems like they're just ignoring us anyway and funding what the administration deems acceptable.
