What’s next for me? I’m open to both short- and long- term #media and #communications roles, specialising in #digitalmedia, #currentaffairs and the #AsiaPacific. I’m also going to give freelancing a go.

Need some 'motherly warmth'? In Japan, you can hire a grandma for as little as $60 … And it’s both keeping older women employed and tackling Japan’s loneliness epidemic.

They say "you can't be what you can't see". Growing up, two friends from Melbourne found it hard to find themselves in the books they read.

Which is why they decided to open a bookstore to make culturally-diverse authors more accessible.

You can argue that race is a social construct, but racism is not. To make an argument on the technicalities behind a person’s race, especially when a review found less than a year ago that systemic racism exists within the ABC, is deeply concerning and disgusting.

@alibreland.bsky.social: “This is one of the key ingredients to the perpetuation of political violence across society—a belief among those who might carry it out that they can do so, and that they’ll get away with it.”

Donald Trump says the ceasefire deal is EPIC, but it is just a Band-Aid The model of a two-state solution is bruised and damaged but is the only viable way to prevent further and more intense violence in coming years, writes John Lyons.

In the broader sweep of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, this is yet another Band-Aid on a badly bleeding patient.

The world needs to finally be serious about trying to find a solution to this decades-old conflict.

BBC complains to Apple over misleading shooting headline Apple's new artificial intelligence features falsely made it seem the BBC reported Luigi Mangione had shot himself.

As I said -- only a matter of time before news orgs lashed out at Apple's lackluster (and evidently dangerously wrong) AI summaries of their work. This is shambolic and the BBC has every right to be furious about it.
