Hate to say it, but he's correct. The English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish are technically ethnic groups. The correct INCLUSIVE term for all ethnic groups in the UK is "British Citizen" which is why it says so on the passport.

I'm just a layman student of history, but I would have thought that the long and troubled story of Anglo-Irish relations has some important lessons here, should the USA try to forcibly annex Canada. Am I wrong?
