Overall the story was interesting to an extent and the gameplay was... certainly gameplay, but overall, the game was just okay. I can't say anything in the game really impacted me except maybe once singular scene with Tails. It was a game. Not a memorable game imo, but a game

The music was good but that's what I expect of sonic games tbh. I was also disappointed we didn't get any more information on or from Sage before redacted.

Also, if I'm being honest, I had more fun fishing than I did with the combat of most of the game. With the exception of a few mini bosses I didn't really care for the combat.

The story was interesting enough but by the final island I basically had to fish to skip segments to get past certain points. In fact, that's almost all I did for the final island bc collecting the final memory tokens otherwise is borderline impossible.

It was not bad. I can't call it that. I can, however, stand by my statement that it was mid for a sonic game. It had a few enjoyable puzzles but overall most of my complaints weren't fixed by the end of the game.

Having finally beat the game, sonic Frontiers was... I wanna say okay but in all fairness I needed someone to teach me exploits and strategies. The payoff in the end felt anticlimactic for a boss fight even though it was an end of the world level climax.

And I know I'm going on and on and on but like... I have so many complaints about this game that I desperately wanted to be as good as everyone said. This isn't even the whole list I just need to stop before I write an entire thesis on a personal opinion

Like yeah that formula kinda works (not well imo) in some other games, but sonic is not a collect-a-thon unless you count rings and upgrades which is another thing. I hated the upgrade system in Frontiers. I miss the creativity of finding items for upgrades. Again, thank the gods for shadow gens

Seriously, the koco are cute, sure, but oh my gods do I not care about doing all these uninteresting side missions for maybe 30 seconds of story if anything. And having to collect hundreds of collectibles EVERY ISLAND just to access those challenges? Infuriating
