BREAKING: A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's deployment of 200 Oregon National Guard members to Portland over the governor's objections.
This decision reinforces one of our country's core principles: The military has no place policing our communities.

there is a point here i want to amplify. the free speech defenders of the mainstream seem to have no awareness that actual free speech is often more fractious and destabilizing than civil and respectful. a society where speech is genuinely free isnβt the deferential space they want it to be.

Protecting Free Speech in the Face of Government Retaliation
Since Charlie Kirkβs killing, the government has threatened to punish anyone who speaks ill of the conservative free speech activist. This violates the First Amendment.
The Trump administration is villainizing and punishing those who dare to express anything but unequivocal support for its political views.
Such censorship is profoundly harmful to a free society β but it can be stopped if we resist it together.

Congress rolls back $9 billion in public media and foreign aid
The House approved a Trump administration plan to rescind $9 billion in previously allocated funds, including $1.1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Small towns and big cities alike rely on local radio to prepare for severe weather events.
Defunding public media violates our free speech rights and makes it more likely people wonβt know about the next natural disaster until itβs at their doorstep.

We sued in 1990 after performance artist and activist Tim Miller had his grant rescinded from the National Endowment for the Arts because of LGBTQ themes in his work.
The NEA is now under political pressure to force grant applicants to adhere to President Trump's anti-trans agenda, and we're suing.

13 women describe 'horrific' detainment after Omaha raid. ICE says it followed detention standards
In an interview with The World-Herald, 13 women discussed their experiences during and after the Omaha immigration raid. Several claimed they were harassed and told they had no rights. ICE
In new interviews, 13 women who were taken in the Omaha worksite raid told the Omaha World-Herald that ICE agents mocked them, tried to intimidate them into signing papers, and incorrectly told them they donβt have rights. This is appalling.

Most of the workers rounded up by ICE at Omaha food plant had no prior criminal history
Less than 25% of Glenn Valley Foods workers detained in south Omaha ICE raid had prior criminal convictions. Most of the ones who did had received traffic-related misdemeanor charges.
New reporting confirms what's been clear from the start. The vast majority of people taken by ICE in their Omaha raid had no criminal records. This is the reality of the extreme mass deportation agenda: creating fear, separating families, and targeting our neighbors, loved ones and coworkers.

Shaxs is a big burly man wearing his gold Star fleet uniform and also an apron over the front like he's doing some sort of art project or baking a nice sourdough. White House aide calls Los Angeles anti-ICE protests an 'insurrection'
Senior White House aide Stephen Miller on Saturday condemned protests in downtown Los Angeles against federal immigration raids as an "insurrection" against the United States.
President Trump's deployment of federalized National Guard troopsΒ is unnecessary, inflammatory, and an abuse of power.
The Trump administration is putting people in LA in danger and undermines the democratic principle that the military should not police civilians.
