I walked into the store today telling myself that I wasn't going to buy any candy.
Then I discovered this thing I didn't know existed.
Damn you, M&Ms. :)
FYI: They were good.

I admit it. I might have geeked out a little seeing Candice Bergen and Harrison Ford together on this week's episode of Shrinking. Two powerhouses.
Thanks.

I saw this quote attributed to Jordan Peele today. I think this perfectly sums up writing my first drafts.
"When I’m writing the first draft, I’m constantly reminding myself that I’m simply shoveling sand into a box so that later I can build castles."
Some writers I know wake up an hour earlier than normal to write for an hour before leaving for work or turn off the TV early and write before bed. You make the most out of time. Writing for 30 minutes a day took time, but I eventually got there. Good luck.
I wrote most of my first novel in a little less than 30 minutes a day on my lunch break at my day job. I sat in my car with a bag lunch and wrote. First, in notebooks. Then, when I got a laptop, I used that. later, a tablet turned out to be perfect for writing on my lunch break. It's doable.

A question I've been getting a lot lately is "How do you find time to write?" The truth is, you don't. You have to make time to write. If you wait for free time, you'll never find it. Trust me on this.
This answer is usually followed by, "But I have a job or I have a family."

Sad to hear of the passing of Lee Martindale. Not only was Lee a fantastic author, but a wonderful human being. I've been on many a panel with Lee at cons over the years and always enjoyed our conversations. She will be missed. Rest in Peace.
Whoa! Flashback! :)

I'm doing some redesign tests on my table set up. This was today's. Not bad. I'll be trying another set up at my event in Dahlonega Saturday. I don't often have side table space so that will play into the layout as well.
Thanks to all who joined me at Finished Goods Sunday Market at Finished Goods Brew Werks in Winder, GA. Not a huge turnout, but I met some wonderful people & sold some books & art. Bonus: it's 5 minutes from my house. Thanks, as always, to Maggie at Tall Pine Events for hosting. It was a fun day.

I was asked what I do when a show is slow. I spent time talking with the other vendors, many of whom I met for the 1st time today. I take my tablet & write when it's slow. I added words to the next Tom Myers Mystery today. I also drew up some designs for table redesigns. It was a productive day.
Saw this sign in town today. I don't think that's how secrets work.

Deputy U.S. Marshal William Teague (who previously appeared in Evil Intent & In The Wind) is on the trail of a hijacker and a plane that's gone down atop a mountain with friends aboard. Oh, and did I mention there's a nasty storm moving in.
I had a pretty good wordslingin' day! I worked on 'Nowhere To Run' an adventure/thriller novel currently sitting around 56K words. I'm angling for 60K for this one. Look for it to release sometime later this year. I'm hoping to have it out by Dragon Con at least. Fingers crossed.
