This is, of course, a typical tactic of tech companies – adding “features“ that crash and burn, but never addressing the underlying issues.
The reason I want students to have to struggle with difficult texts is because I want them to have the capacity to make meaning in and of the world on their own.
I’m still thinking all of this through, but just noting that the underlying infrastructure for using AI in this way has not been altered.
The only thing that’s been changed is peoples names being publicly attached to editing suggestions.
