With everything so seemingly terrible these days & no sign of anything remotely hopeful in the near future, I thought you might need this photo of a baby giraffe.

A still image from The Road where a haggard looking middle aged man and a young boy are walking through a desolate wasteland pushing a shopping cart

well son, you have to understand that a lot of people really wanted to say slurs without repercussions

Old white men do not represent Hollywood’s burgeoning diversity. They are anachronisms of a bygone era — when gender inequality, racism and misogyny were the norms.

Y'know, it's worth remembering that while ONE is still "too many" with this stuff; this happened to NASA **twice** but it happens to Elon so f---ing often that they had to stop publicly disclosing the count 👀

I'm no rocket scientist but I have a feeling that the carbon footprint of SpaceX (failed prototypes + using fuel that produces greenhouse gases instead of using the clean oxygen + hydrogen mix that NASA uses) completely negates any good that Teslas electric cars have done.

Don’t pretend COVID-19 didn’t happen Just over 5 years ago, on New Year’s Eve 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) became aware of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown etiology in Wuhan, China. A massive global infectious disease...

Don't pretend it's not still happening. Don't pretend it's not airborne. Don't pretend it's all Omicron. Don't pretend it's mild.

Hahaha, god, last time I attempted to have sex with a straight guy I got out the lube and instead of getting laid I ended up coaching him through a wounded three hour sulk, which is almost as good.

We need to find a path forward. Acquiescing to fascists and just allowing grief to consume us is how they win. Find what resistance looks like for you… it can simply be committing to joy and real connection with people.

Collective Survival, Adaptation and Direct Action Defiance must be woven into the fabric of our daily lives, rather than simply proclaimed at marches or on social media.

This is so good:how to organize going forward. Exactly what I've been thinking re:connection &community for resilience:

I now have the urge to read "The Lord of the Rings" for a third time. Something about a story of unlikely victory over a world descending into unspeakable evil and darkness is rather appealing at the moment.

I still can't believe this was from my backyard on October 10th. Twitter crushed the video quality when I posted it there, let's see how Bluesky does it.

A scene with inky darkness. The moon blots out the sun and ring of fire appears in the sky. The horizon looks like sunset and the golden color reflects in the lake. Three people in the bottom right corner look up. They are in silhouette.

Remember the eclipse back in April?

Since eclipses are rare I practiced camera settings and timing... then changed travel plans, watched the weather like a hawk, and ended up driving quite a bit. It all worked out. I'm proudest of this image and would love to do projects like this more often.
