And that's just the immediate cost to taxpayers. What about the longterm costs to society of having discriminatory practices in schools that rob students of their futures.
A "strategic" move would be to issue a firm position that Democrats in Congress and the American people won’t stand for any of this and that Republicans must offer plausible solutions to prevent masked secret police from rampaging in American cities or we'll shut it down. Why can't you do that?

Tim Walz is such a good and decent man. And seeing what has been done to him stirs a rage in me so strong that I can’t really grapple with it at times. I only know one way forward which is a promise to use that rage to bring about change and a return to decency.

While proponents of the new law claim it is a way to expand education options for students and families, critics point to evidence that Florida charter schools, which one expert called “a shitstorm,” need stricter oversight rather than a free rein.
Once the charter occupies part of the public school, it operates rent free, and the school district becomes responsible for the charter’s costs for bus transportation, food service, school support services, and any construction costs the charters might incur.
