Gaza killings denounced as ‘disgrace to humanity’ by Belgian king The EU’s top brass has not publicly responded to the reported deaths of over 100 aid seekers in Gaza over the weekend.

Belgium’s King Philippe said Europe “must show stronger leadership” on the crisis in Gaza, adding that “the current situation has gone on far too long” and “is a disgrace to humanity.”

happened, except it’s def not our fault. But tickets no longer available in same price class now, only solution is for us to book way more expensive tickets (original were $$$ already). So they mess up but we should pay?!? I mean, Ryanair perhaps, ok, but KLM???

@klm.bsky.social officially has worst customer service in the world of aviation. Which is a high bar! Booked flights to attend a funeral, received confirmation but never the actual tickets, when I call eventually turns out they cancelled them without ever telling us. They literally don’t know what

Videos of bodies of burnt, dismembered children. Images of a small child trapped in a burning school.

How many more dead girls and boys will it take?

The children of Gaza need immediate, collective action to
stop this once and for all.

Since the end of the ceasefire on 18 March, 1,309 children have reportedly been killed and 3,738 injured.

In total, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023.

The children of Gaza need protection NOW: unicef.link/3ZCg0wJ

I am so thankful that I came up in an academic environment that valued openness r/t secrecy. I have never worried about discussing my ideas with others, and those discussions have paid off greatly. I feel bad for trainees who learn to be secretive with their ideas - they are missing out on so much!

Reconsolidation-based therapies: Science and fiction : Find an Expert : The University of Melbourne
The prospect of editing out traumatic or distressing memories from one’s mind would strike most people as science fiction. Yet in recent years, inspired by intriguing (but contested) findings in the basic science of memory, clinical interventions aspiring to do just that have started to emerge. Those interventions can be captured under the umbrella of ‘memory reconsolidation therapy’ (MRT). But do those therapies actually deliver on their promise of memory editing? Or do they spin the basic science of memory into treatments that we know neither the mechanism of action nor the effectiveness of? In this project, we will evaluate the clinical trial literature to appraise the evidence base for MRT and gauge the degree of hype involved in their clinical uptake. In doing so, the project will illustrate some of the ways in which spin and hype bias the translation of basic science to real-world applications and the tangible consequences that this has for evidence-based practice.
