From her political education from the leaders of the Attica prison uprising and getting knocked out by a cop at Stonewall to performing in the Jewel Box Revue and founding TGIJP, she led an extraordinary life.

What I learned from Miss Major was persistence and also keeping a sense of humor. I was lucky to see her work in various organizing meetings over the years. She was a model of how to be a good elder. Truly grateful for everything she did to make the world better. Time for the rest of us to continue.

Just sent some money to @ohiocapitaljournal.com, whose work I’ve relied on regularly to keep up with what’s happening in my home state since launching Law Dork in 2022.

Breaking: Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, the legendary transgender activist and veteran of the Stonewall uprising who dedicated her life to the liberation of trans people, especially Black trans women, has died at 78.

Apparently people have been getting their needs fully met from that thread I started as well as the multiple other threads inspired by Link.

If this doesn’t demonstrate Link’s impact and the value of BlueSky as a mutual aid network, I don’t know what can.

Spouse went to get kiddo & friend’s kiddo early today given reports of ICE nabbing folks by nearby schools and ppl had come out in force to cover the area. Honestly turned a stressful situation into a heartening one for us (with all the caveats about our positionality of course). ILU Chicago ❤️
