Looking north in Spring Hill, Tn around 10:45 pm tonight, we could see the Northern Lights from our porch.
Tennessee ain’t all red. #NoKings
The latest example of Trump’s relentless assault on free speech.
He's rewriting visa rules to make it harder for foreign reporters to cover his presidency - so he can just kick them out if they write stories he doesn't like.
Interestingly enough, he also admitted to the AFP group that we are probably going to have a recession, but he didn’t think it will last long. Regarding a budget showdown, he thinks there will probably be a year-long recision bill that will automatically cut budget line items by 1%.
Of course when talking about the protestors, he said something along the lines of if they could just be respectful and have a decent conversation, we could probably get somewhere.
I went to this yesterday to ask him about getting rid of RFK Jr and supporting medical research. (Wore my most conservative looking clothes and admitted that I didn’t pre register and they let me in.)
I liked it when TN was home to older rockers like John Fogarty, Steve Winwood, and Peter Frampton, rather than idiotic nutjobs like Hegseth, Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro. Bring back the (rock ‘n’ roll) dinosaurs!
NEW: We interviewed nine Venezuelan men who were sent to CECOT by the Trump administration.
Some said their feelings about what happened were still raw.
All of the men said they were abused physically and mentally during their imprisonment.
Have you benefited from a medical treatment or know someone who has? This one man wants to shut it all down. It sounds nonsensical and mad. And it is. But Russell Vought is head of the OMB, wants to and can do it. Call your members of Congress. Get rid of Vought, not medical research.
Good god, she’s heartless!
The president is responsible for releasing criminals and gangsters upon the unsuspecting public. Why does anyone support this man??!! Trump grants clemency to 26 people, including former gang leader - The Wall Street Journal
I covered yesterday's press conference by U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles so reporters didn't have to work on a holiday--the event made a mockery of Memorial Day and I couldn't write a straight news story. Here's my take:
Yeah, there’s a beautiful blue sky in Spring Hill at the moment. Never thought I’d be unhappy to see this! ☹️
A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

Fun fact: professors / lab heads basically never have a full year salary commitment from their institution. 75% is the norm, often it’s as little as 30%. To get a full salary you get paid for work you do on funded projects, which are contracts that have formal effort reporting.
people need to internalize, very quickly, that federal research grants are a hypercompetitive contracting process not charity, and that what Uncle Sam gets in return for that money is American dominance in the future
The 'Today' show host's book festival costs $399 a ticket and is coming to Nashville.
Send the money instead to Humanities Tennessee to support the Southern Festival of Books, one of the nation’s oldest book festivals. SFB is committed to supporting authors and readers and keeping the event free.
Bring back Bidenomics.
"The status of the festival right now is, I would say, tenuous," said Humanities Tennessee Executive Director Tim Henderson.
😭😭😭
Sen. Cory Booker has the floor.
I appreciate that Jeffrey Goldberg did not sit on this news for a book that he writes two years from now
Spotted on R/Fednews:
Not only that, to me it’s seems like a coded message to some of his more violent supports, along the lines of, “Stand back and stand by,” as he once told the Proud Boys.
