A quick fire Flood double was added to by a Brash goal in a dominant first half. When a second half Thistle resurgence was quelled by a Gallagher penalty save a calm Jones finish minutes from time capped a fine performance.

Our new President Trevor Longhurst becomes only the sixth person to hold the position, the longest serving of which was Jim Robertson who held the post for 27 years before Ian McGinty followed him for a further 12 years and oversaw the transition from Junior to Senior football.

Coverage of idiots claiming β€˜betrayal’ or β€˜surrender’ isn’t just bad journalism, it’s a dereliction of our duty to explain things. I’d actually forgotten just how bad it got but here we are, straight back to treating liars & spivs like authorities of equal weight to experts & honest brokers.

Do you think you have something to offer those who work hard behind the scenes to facilitate the smooth running of Blackburn United? Do you have the ideas and the passion to help grow the team that represent the village in the Scottish Football Pyramid? If so, please get in touch!

Remember the heady days when β€˜Turkey joining the EU’ and β€˜We’ll be forced to join an EU army’ were used to frighten people into voting to isolate ourselves and make ourselves infinitely more vulnerable. How Putin must have laughed at our idiocy.

A terrific second half come back that started with a stunning Daryl Meikle strike from some twenty yards culminated when captain James Mildren knocked home at the back post after the hosts couldn’t clear a corner kick.

Today is an object lesson in the radicalisation of the British right-wing press. Britain is being disparaged and insulted by a foreign far-right conspiracy theorist. But the Mail, the Express, the Telegraph and even the Times choose focus their criticisism on the British prime minister instead.

An open letter to the BBC Dr Russell Jackson, senior lecturer in communication and public relations at Sheffield Hallam University, writes to the BBC about Question Time

With Farage back on Question Time last night...

...here is your reminder that Farage was on BBCQT a record-breaking 35 times before he became an MP.

And, further, that the panellist selection on BBCQT has been heavily slanted to right-wing think tanks and commentators over the years.

A poor and irresponsible government is one that deliberately fails to acknowledge the harm that is being inflicted upon us and refuses to rectify previous mistakes that, by reversing them, would be of enormous benefit to all of us.
In fact, it’s a gross dereliction of duty.
