Why more and more people are tuning the news out: ‘Now I don’t have that anxiety’ Emotional toll of constant negative news and unlimited access to ‘doomscrolling’ has led to record-high news avoidance

It turns out the 'death' of printed newspapers is turning everyone mental.

Printed newspapers don't demand attention. Printed newspapers don't follow you around. Printed newspapers don't prod you in the ribs and demand you respond.

Did something very mundane but also very mindful with my day off and painted the fence in the garden before autumn rolls around! The sense of achievement afterwards for that small task was very enjoyable 😊 taking pleasure in the small things makes all the difference.

Witnessed my first cardiac arrest yesterday. I guess it was bound to happen at some point in my line of work.

But still. Nothing can prepare you for that 😓

Best of luck to the new resident doctors who started today.
I still remember my first days very vividly!

Ask for help if you need it, we have all been there and if they forget kindly remind them!
