The 1st Mistborn book is basically a beat-for-beat hero's quest from a scriptwriting introductory example, not even Robert McKee's full book. It's good though, or maybe fun I should say, but you see each plot decision a few chapters away.
I can enjoy a book I find it a bit predictable, sure, not too much though. What I think turns me off is understanding the narrative needs of the author, which leads to predictability but also a boring predictability, not sure if I can explain it properly, but Sanderson's books are like that for me.
