Two deep-tufted buttoned wingbacks ready for delivery

Fuck I hated working with this fabric but the deep-tufting buttoned chair retrofit is finally done and delivered. Came in looking like hell and no buttons, did a full conversion and they look... good enough lmao

Why this pattern tho

Apparently this is the summer of tufting, and holy shit this fabric is like sandpaper and I kinda hate the pattern. But I did two of them in one day so all things considered that's pretty good

The start of a deep tufted buttoned seat back in a deep jade/emerald colored fabric Only several central tufts have been pinned at this point

Same as the previous with more tufts held in place by pinning

Showing the very large and intimidating tufting needles I use, plus the start of buttons being placed

All buttons placed and all pleats tacked down with pins, ready for tension!

Still need to do a shit ton of massaging and double check I've lanced the holes right but hot damn, took me just a day to do more or less yay!

And all this plus fighting through what might be a migraine lmao

Now to do the other two deep tufting jobs... 😭

I think this was once a bose store, the lone light illuminating some dishevelled shelving at the far end of the room on the right of the frame feels very ominous.

A former massage place I believe, also closed now. The stark shadows from the honeycomb shelves are particularly interesting on the main pillar in the room. A wall at an odd angle starts and continues off the left side of the frame. Only one light is on.
