As might be expected, concisely explaining the history of entire music genres in only 1-2 slides each is kinda hard lol.

I don’t use Spotify, so instead here’s what comes up when I sort my Bandcamp collection by most played.

Mixes + visuals are all done, and aren’t running into any copyright restrictions. Now I just need to work on the slides.

Still need to do all the slides & visuals, but I could genuinely have this video done before Friday if I don’t run into any major problems

DnB mix is now done as well, though I might try and re-record it just to get it a bit cleaner/smoother.

Only doing one Hardcore mix this time around instead of splitting it between the earlier/slower stuff vs later/faster stuff. Partly to save on time and partly ‘cause my vids on Breakbeat Hardcore, Darkcore, and Jungle Tekno + Happy Hardcore already cover the topic well enough.

Got the Breakcore & Breakbeat Hardcore mixes (mostly) sorted out now as well. Just need to finish up the DnB mix, which ironically might be the hardest to put together.

Like for example, there's no shortage of Jungle/DnB tracks at 170 or 172 bpm, but surprising few at 171 bpm

It is kinda funny how it largely doesn’t matter the exact tempo you make a song at, since DJs can just speed it up/down to match the rest of the songs in a mix, and yet producers still gravitate towards some and completely avoid others

I think “Fine Night” by goreshit is the only DnB track I’ve come across with a tempo of 179 bpm

Working on the Breakcore mix now. Was concerned about how to smoothly mix in/out Vsnares tracks since he really likes making songs in 7/8, but I think I've found out that past a certain point, things get so chaotic that you can't really tell when the time signatures don't match lol

Can’t remember the last time I did it with no help. There was one day about a month ago where I started out making dinner for my family entirely by myself, but ran into a few snags and wound up recruiting my mom to help towards the end in the interest of finishing in a timely manner lol

Already have a Jungle mix recorded.

16 tracks in ~39 minutes, compared to 6 tracks in ~25 minutes in the original video. Also made sure to include a greater variety of sub-genres.

While I'm on the subject, I'm also kinda thinking about remaking the original genre guide. The Breakcore section is definitely the main problem with that video, though I also could've done a bit better with the sections on Breakbeat Hardcore and Jungle tbh.

Tried to render is again and got the same result. Seems to mainly be affecting parts with the dred bass, which is where to song is getting slammed into the limiter the hardest, so I'm thinking there's some sort of audio clipping issue going on.

Seems like the audio got slightly corrupted in the process of trimming off the silence and the beginning & end of the video clip
