Planting snowdrops and bluebells in Craigmillar woods with the new group of Youth Build trainees. Can't wait to see the flowers brightening up the park and providing much needed early food for insects, especially the queen bees that have been emerging recently.

We had a blustery but sunny day tree and bulb planting with Enterprise and Trees for Cities to create two new woodland areas in Sighthill Park. The group planted 245 native trees and interspaced 900 Snowdrop bulbs between them, providing a valuable food source for pollinators.

We welcomed Craigmount High School to West Pilton Park who are earning their Duke of Edinburgh Award through volunteering in the park. They helped clean up the 'foot print' herb area, in preparation for Spring. What a difference they've made! A big thanks

We made the most of the sunshine this week with a big spring litter pick at West Pilton Park. It's looking much better now! Thanks to Ranger Beth from the Council for her support. We also spotted plenty of bugs and bees waking up and enjoying the display of Crocus.

We had another fab Wellies in the Woods session in West Pilton Park last week, focusing on the book Superworm! We charmed some worms and observed their wiggly bodies, did some bug hunting and learned the worm dance.

We had a lovely time at the nature connection community event in Craigmillar Castle Park. We took our time to look, feel and hear the subtle signs of nature. Bird song, bark textures and tiny tree flowers all made an appearance.

We loved spotting some signs of spring with our Inch Park conservation group. Amidst sowing more Yellow Rattle seed, we spotted our first daffodils, dandelions and bumblebees of the year
