Despite overwhelming opposition, the EPA claims it is “unleashing American energy," leaning on an unvetted, antiscientific DOE report that dismisses the well-established harms of greenhouse gases.

Across both parties, 79% of likely voters agree with the endangerment finding. When broken down by party, 68% of republican voters and 88% of democratic voters are in agreement with the endangerment finding.

It's not just experts—most American voters agree with the Endangerment finding, and are in overwhelming support of regulating greenhouse gas emissions.

Doctors pointed to rising respiratory illness, public health organizations stressed disproportionate burdens on disadvantaged groups, and state officials pledged to challenge the repeal in court.

Fewer than 10 spoke in favor of repeal. The rest issued a clear warning: reversing this protection will accelerate the climate crisis, worsen air pollution, and disproportionately harm already vulnerable communities.

On Day 1 of hearings, nearly 200 people testified — from physicians and public health leaders to clergy, farmers, and attorneys general.

That finding, rooted in a 2007 Supreme Court ruling, has been the legal backbone for regulating climate pollution from cars, power plants, and oil & gas for more than a decade.

Yesterday, the EPA opened public hearings on its plan to repeal the Endangerment Finding — the agency’s own 2009 determination that greenhouse gases endanger human health and welfare.
