18.02.2026 19:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't know the lack of agency ascribed to the right has a name, but of course it does: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murc%27...

07.02.2026 14:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's the point of being a billionaire if you still have to submit to the perceived alpha? Or are these people billionaires because they like submitting?
04.02.2026 16:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not much of MAGA logic makes sense. But how does one end up with: "1A allows me to be an asshole whenever I want without consequences, but it doesn't protect the media from reporting on government action?"
30.01.2026 13:26 β π 53 π 2 π¬ 6 π 0What really boils my blood is we traded John Dickerson for this...
07.01.2026 00:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Almost as if the traditional football powers liked the old corrupt, broken, exploitive model for selfish reasons.
02.01.2026 13:50 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It comes from a good, but naive place. We want to think people are good. If these people know the facts, then why are they doing bad things? It leads to a dark conclusion: They are indifferent to the damage they are causing and the suffering of others. We don't want to think that of or close ones.
30.11.2025 20:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Congress: We will rubber stamp whatever the president wants. Also Congress: Why do we have no power or respect?
24.11.2025 15:56 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0His college, my alma mater, has one of the largest populations of international students. Greater than 20% at a school with freshman classes of ~4500.
13.11.2025 16:35 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree. Biden was bad only in style points. Which seem to matter way too much...
05.11.2025 13:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes. But fixing bad things is always way harder than never doing that bad thing in the first place. The asymmetry in this process causes permanent damage. I don't buy the argument that people/society can't have 5% more foresight.
05.11.2025 13:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All Great. But why are our elections so reactionary, why didn't all these voters prevent us from needing this wave a year ago? I'm generally curious. Some segment of voters alternate between indifference and freaking out, why not just vote consistently for your values?
05.11.2025 12:49 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 8 π 0"I like Nazis; you like chocolate ice cream. We all have differences. Embrace them"
29.10.2025 15:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Entirely predictable. An honest man of kindness and character as never going to last there. Hope he lands somewhere great.
27.10.2025 20:16 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Which has been used as an excuse to exploit teachers from time immomerial. I really do respect you position. I just detest the college admissions game and have no problem messing with it.
24.10.2025 13:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Colleges like lots of applicants because it allows them to pretend the have small acceptance rates. But it also means there is no way they are treating all these applications with care and human attention. Many in the UC system have over 100k applications. They created the messed up system.
24.10.2025 13:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That doesn't fix a broken system hoisted on the backs of teachers and high schools groveling for whatever colleges want. BTW I don't use AI to write letters, but I think teachers should feel free to if they want. The colleges deserve it for the awful application process they've created.
24.10.2025 13:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not so much as "if you can't beat them, join them" As it is that colleges have always been disrespectful towards teacher time when it comes to reccomendations. Since they don't respect me and my unpaid work, they haven't earned my best effort. Double so if they are going to have AI read it.
24.10.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If colleges are using AI to read them when they have 80k applicants. Why should I spend my time on them? If they don't value them enough to have a human read them....
24.10.2025 12:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Local here: Two amusing things: Boston has become an amazingly safe city. Last year was lowest murder rate since 1950s! And the games are played like 45 mins away from the city in a suburban/exurban town. It's a ridiculous claim.
14.10.2025 22:27 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In this country getting educated and going to college are politically coded, especially since the pandemic/Trump I. This likely isn't as much a problem in other countries.
14.10.2025 11:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Trump is correct like a broken clock is correct and yet people feel it necessary to think those acts were intentional and that he deserves credit.
13.10.2025 18:19 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Why are The Onion and John Oliver better at journalism than journalists?

04.10.2025 19:27 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It still blows my mind that the 2020 combo of BLM and COVID broke a bunch of people. Like how dare we try to save lives and treat all people kindly and justly? Like this is what broke you?
03.10.2025 13:27 β π 76 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Real shame because John Dickerson is the best. Kind and Smart and Incisive. In fact, I can't imagine he lasts long under this mess.
