Getting ready for @foundationyearnet.bsky.social #FYNAC25 this week. I'll be speaking about how we've revised our science assessments to engage with AI, whilst growing our cohort. Basically it takes a village to redesign a programme! currently 22 acknowledgements on the slide.

Students from the poorest backgrounds were more likely to be successful by applying to gateway courses, such as those that have a foundation year with lower grade requirements for entry.

I have some really great students who are so very kind and thoughtful. One of my #FoundationYear students made me a personalised Xmas card as I've been one of her #Biology lecturers, helped her settle her in to the course, and because I always wear cool biology shirts. I absolutely LOVE it!! 😍🎄😍🎅😍

I run tutorials for foundation year Environmental Science students. I give them a topic which they need to go read up on, then we have a discussion. For the next one they've requested an ecological focus.
