Went on a Troll Trail adventure today at the NC Arboretum. Thomas Dambo is just so creative using recycled materials to create art installations. These “Baby Trolls” are crafted from materials like fallen branches, wooden pallets and twigs.

I tried regular, store bought bubbles and they just went rubbery. I used the recipe I found online with sugar and corn syrup to make the crystals visible when freezing.
¾ cup warm water
2 tablespoons dish soap
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 tablespoons sugar
Stir gently to dissolve the sugar.
Winter science is fun! I went outside with a bubble wand to make bubbles and to see them freeze. It was well under the 12° required but the wind kept blowing my bubbles away. I finally sat in my car and was able to catch the phenomenon before my hands got too cold I had to go inside.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Sunset through snowfall.
The pastel tides,
Split and arch like rainbows,
Alive, protecting Mother Earth,
By a landslide.

It is interesting to me how many of the “deprofessionalized” professions on the Dept of Education lists are people in the position to encounter evidence of abuse - especially for children- and are mandated reporters.
Snow makes the lines and shadows more interesting.
It was around 5pm Eastern time.
Welcoming committee as we got back home this evening.
