He knows what "I'm a very wealthy man and I'm used to getting what I want" sounds like. He would not be the writer he is if he didn't
A useful exercise when you read quotes attributed to Gaiman by his victims in the original expose is to think "if I read a Neil Gaiman story where a character talked like this, how would I think Gaiman was trying to portray them?"
It brings me no pleasure to report that the Star Wars prequels are actually really useful to reference when you're teaching about ancient Greek tyrannies & how they happened
So please, if you can, I’d love to have this thread list pro-Trans everything. Creators, craftspeople, writers, artists, activists…if you or someone you know deserves some celebrating, bring it the fuck on, okay?
Post links if you can.
Buy stuff if you can.
They hate when people stand up.
democrats still seem to be laboring under the delusion that they can introduce stuff to pass while trump is president and they, not trump, will somehow get credit for it. they learned nothing from trump taking credit for covid stimulus checks
Jesus Christ they lost
One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.
Even as a cynical scholar of rape culture, I'm shocked that this isn't the headline story on domestic politics everywhere right now. It's just an unfathomable abuse of power, in clear violation of the law.
It's the single best sentence even within the McCarthy passage!!!
literally it's so fucking insane. Ship a bad game = layoff. Ship a good game = layoff. There is going to be a huge fucking gap in game dev knowledge mark my words - when everyone leaves because it's unsafe and these greedy execs try and cover the issue with AI, it's going to be shit games
so:
a. the Strait of Hormuz is def actually mined
b. they did ZERO planning for this
c. they're freaking out now that it's leaked to the press and trying to ensure us that 'no it's not'
With a broken Blue Bomber heart, I am no longer the voice of Mega Man.
I was asked to return for Mega Man: Dual Override, but only on the condition I work without the protections of a union contract.
Ah-ha! We found the true definition of "ultra-processed" food!
One thing that has surprised me, getting back into IRL Magic: The Gathering in the last few years, is how LGBT-friendly the community has become.
I've met more trans people at my LGS (local game store) than at the queer bar where I went to trivia every week.
Foods can be bad for you because they're too calorie dense or have certain chemical additives or the macronutrient profile is not ideal or whatever but the problem is not the fact that processes in general occurred
The idea that every process you can subject foods to could possibly all be equally bad in the same kind of way is so obviously silly it's genuinely vicariously embarrassing to read

"Eat God" playtest 0.7 is up. This draft includes an expanded character sheet by @curatrix-ribston.bsky.social, comparative theophagy by @cryptotheism.bsky.social, and an inadvisable number of extra random lookup tables. Changelog: penguinking.itch.io/eat-god/devl...
If you're just coming back to it and aren't sure what either of those things are, you can grab the latest playtest here: penguinking.itch.io/eat-god
Now that the character generator beta for Eat God (penguinking.games/eat-god/eat-...) has been brought up to date with the latest draft, I'm especially curious what folks make of the full Creed rules and incorporation of the Random Quirks table, both of which were absent from previous prototypes.
My fist pick would be Relooted, I sunk 12 hours into it this year which is hard in a bad fatigue patch, and I just love all the characters and their mission and that they're basically a family. I know people love the idea of the game more than the game but look

I hold up Alpha Protocol as a game I loved enough to get every achievement in, but I consider it a tough sell.
It's a game you need to learn how to manipulate into working. You learn which weapons and abilities are over powered. You learn when you can stealth and when not.
Hear me out...
Univerally praised games are neat enough, but nothing hits quite like something unpopular that speaks to *you*.
So show-and-tell: Link and Explain a game that's UNDERRATED (sub-500 user reviews), UNDERRATED (sub 80% score) or BOTH (ideally!) that is near and dear to your heart.
here’s my first attempt at a zine that was written with a conservative rural audience in mind. these are people who are nominally on the edge, but more often against, these detention facilities despite their politics. It is meant to be emotionally confrontational. It is meant to force the issue.
My new Strange Horizons essay is up! With a deliberately provocative title!
WHY ALL SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY WRITERS ARE HISTORIANS
Yes, *all*
And, no, it isn't just for the reason you think...
I've been working toward this one for a while, very excited to share it!
As GDC starts this week, I published a story summing up the overwhelming fear stopping many international developers from coming to San Francisco this year. arstechnica.com/gaming/2026/...
I cannot emphasize enough that these people are being laid off for failing to do things that are literally impossible
I just got laid off in the Battlefield Studios layoffs this morning. If anyone knows of any UI Programming jobs available in the Seattle area (Or remote), please let me know. I have 7+ years of experience in the industry, and I helped ship Battlefield 6.

Gamedev, ladies and gentlemen
This was a top 3 game for me last year, I think of Tofu and Pinky quite often, and Promises Lost is stuck in my head all the time. Immaculate game give it a whirl if you haven’t already
Cynical AND gullible is a bad combination, yes.
