I've been feeling increasingly stifled by the way that we tend to talk abt roles as a scene, so its soo refreshing to see a new perspective on roles, even if there are a lot of similarities. Its very interesting to me that anything similar to our concept of anchor isnt brought up anywhere. Closest in definition would be controller ig, but the way to achieve that goal is much more broad. I really appreciate the way that supporter and controller are separated, when we normally would lump them together as "support", because as a vdualie player, even when playing it with a more supportive style, it still feels functionally very different to the traditional idea of support. I also really like the way that every range of weapon can fit into any category (although megaphone runner's longest range is naut, but that just makes sense for a role that thrives on mobility). Like yes! Calling liter and hydra attackers makes so much sense. In the past Ive had a hard time trying to define "aggressive" or "fighting" weapons specifically bc of examples like those contradicting what we traditionally consider fighters, so this helps me be more specific and flexible at the same time with how i view it. And yes, im so glad they give space for individual player expression to shift where a weapon falls in a role, instead of trying to push for a "correct" style to play a weapon. im interested in hearing more about what makes a weapon a balancer. The description sounds more like a personal playstyle and strategic mindset, but then they list specific weapons as examples. I see the case for most of them bc theyre weapons that have many options for how to approach situations, but rapid and bp dont feel particularly more suited to the role than other weapons ? maybe thats me missing something since i have no experience playing them though ? also surprised dualie isnt in there, but thats my bias lol

I've had a great run since 2020, being able to help with so many different events within the community. I've gotten to a point where life has gotten so busy, and the scene has gotten even busier. I believe my time has come to start moving away from online events to focus on life 🧵

Please take the time today to listen to the TO's and other community leaders who are speaking about their experiences today, there have been many times their voices do not get the attention and respect they deserve and we have lost too many people good people already, I'd like to not lose more.

We as a community need to have real dialogue about what exactly safety looks like and how to achieve it in a way that still has a baseline of unbiased and through review to ensure integrity for both those who report their cases and the accused in those cases
