Shout out to the Irvine Ranch Conservancy thistle slayers. They've trekked to remote sites and risked tumbling down cactus-laden slopes to remove an estimated 13,000 artichoke thistle plants. This level of determination is inspiring!

With U.S. Forest Service funding, Cal-IPC supports efforts like the Shirttail Restoration Project in Tahoe NF. Treating rush skeletonweed, yellow starthistle, and barbed goatgrass reduces fuel loads and protects native habitatโ€”and potential home to Bigfoot...Do you believe ๐Ÿ‘ฃ?

We've added Eragrostis echinochloidea, Senecio angulatus, and Urospermum picroides to the โ€œWatchโ€ list. While still uncommon in California, they are high risk of becoming invasive.

Nassella tenuissima also now has a Limited rating.
