Happened upon this while having a coffee break just now.
I love this song and this is better than the original. Enjoy.

I'm giving away this copy of For You by Tatsumo Yamashita. Arguably Japan's finest City Pop album.
Comment 'For Me?' and a random wheel thingy will choose a winner.
Giving this away as a thank you for joining me on my Tokyo trip. Trust me... you want this amazing LP.

09.03.2026 09:30 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah, that one's really pricey! I've settled for English Electric Café and German Techno Pop so far.

08.03.2026 20:33 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I like it, different enough to be interesting but doesn't wreck the album.

Rough version of conversation:
Me: "I feel too tired to make dinner yet"
Mrs: "What are you going to do?"
Me: "I'm going to put some jazz on."
Mrs: "Nooooo, what are you going to do for dinner?"
The Fife Piper is remarkable in that even when pretty much centred it sounds hideously off centre. It reminded me of the kazoo and swanny whistle round if I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.

08.03.2026 17:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I quite fancy the French (and maybe Canadian?) issue of Computer World that has a Mini Calculateur on it but it's pricey.

Yeah, in this situation I often ask people if they've heard the original Detroit Mix.
Have you heard the original Detroit Mix?
Some post dog walk #WeekendSingles and hopefully a coffee before I get dinner on.
08.03.2026 17:12 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 1It was before I knew much or anything about the Manson stuff. I don't really associate it with him, but that's certainly not going to make it any better.
08.03.2026 15:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Soft spot for What's Going On. I read about it being a good album but it took a while for it to click for me.
08.03.2026 14:57 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I find The White Album can have a creepy atmosphere to it sometimes - not just Revolution 9 - there's something about it in general.

08.03.2026 14:31 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I bought the German Radioaktivitat fancy remaster some years back only to find it was the same album with dual language (or more) vocals as the English titled album, which I got as a cheap Canadian or US pressing from HMV Oxford Street when I was getting back into new vinyl in the early 2000s.

Weasel's! Bought a lot from there as a teenager. Bob and (Barbara?) seemed nice.
Were you about when Weasels went to Shirley?
I had some good times with two different radiograms. Both my Gran's.

08.03.2026 12:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I really like Student Demonstration Time! I know it's commonly disliked but I don't know why. I heard it entirely out of context with the album at school, in music class I think. Don't recall why.
08.03.2026 12:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Ooh, but which mix of the title track does it have?
08.03.2026 12:47 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I was aware of the Oxygene album in my youth. Various grown ups had it. The only ones I have as an adult are Radioactivity and the Jarre.
08.03.2026 12:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Lucy in the Sky was just around (may as well have been a single), Howard Jones had mentioned A Day In The Life in an interview as I recall, and I'm pretty sure She's Leaving Home had been played at school during music or drama, or something. Still like it a lot.
08.03.2026 12:42 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It hadn't clicked until just now, but Sgt. Pepper was probably a formative album for me too. I bought it off the back of the 20 years ago today campaign (TV documentary too?) and for the most part my teenage ears loved it. I'd already heard bits from my best friend's parents' copy... 1/2

Mrs Fish hasn't started making lunch yet (I'm on dinner duty) so I may get a couple of 12" #WeekendSingles in.
Stop press! One of the little fishes may be doing lunch.
Didn't get Yesterday's Men when I first heard it on Top of the Pops. Like it a lot now.
