This is very upsetting, truly awful. Thoughts with the family and friends of the member of staff involved, as well as the Elizabeth Line team, RMT and BTP.
07.12.2024 12:01 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There's lots of nostalgia for the older seats. One of the reasons we did the research was to challenge the perception that seats have to be uncomfortable to comply with safety, and to show that you can measure and assess comfort and take it into account alongside all the other requirements.
25.11.2024 17:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0much love for the 'don't know' crew who must be wondering what that tree is doing in their living room
25.11.2024 16:40 โ ๐ 505 ๐ 102 ๐ฌ 29 ๐ 1Are you sitting comfortably? A while ago at RSSB we did some research on seat comfort on board trains. Thereโs a nice little article in our most recent edition of Horizon, our rail leadersโ magazine, which talks about how itโs been used. Well worth a look >>> bit.ly/4fPeq0c
25.11.2024 16:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Possibly this is the first time there's been a switch "on principle" to a platform that's perceived to offer a better version of the "same" product to the one people were used to - it's not like (for example) the switch from FriendsReunited to Facebook in the early 00s

25.11.2024 12:06 โ ๐ 22 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tonight I heard Felsted Choral Society and Orchestra and guests perform Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, Ave verum Corpus, and Requiem in D minor. My wife Sarah played the violin.
23.11.2024 22:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well done to all the teams working behind the scenes to keep the trains moving round the network.Today we celebrated those teams at the Golden Spanners awards, organised by Modern Railways, recognising the depots managing the most reliable fleets.
22.11.2024 19:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0there are also no toilets - there might be 1 accessible toilet I think, but nothing on the scale that you would expect of a station that size. Closest is the Westfield shopping centre I think.
21.11.2024 16:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Today I joined Rachel Hopkins MP and @aslefunion.bsky.social for the launch of their Dignity for Drivers report in Parliament. The provision of the right welfare and toilet facilities for train drivers is lacking. ASLEF's report aligns with RSSB's work in 2022 and we look forward to building on this.
19.11.2024 21:13 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0it's sad that the term "woke" has become so misused given its origin is about awareness of social and political inequalities facing black African Americans. Unless I missed the bit of Luther King's speech where he has a dream that people can sub cheese for avocado and olives in their sandwiches.
18.11.2024 15:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Great to meet friends old and new on here, I hope the platform continues to grow. As a first post gesture and nod to the railway family, here's a photo of a Deltic I took at the Great Central a couple of years ago. It's not the best photo technically but I think it gives good vibes.
