Abbott activates emergency resources ahead of growing wildfire threat, flood risk in Texas With expected growing wildfire danger across Texas and the potential for a flood risk this weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott is activating more state emergency response resources Friday.

Texas is preparing emergency resources for wildfires and floods. The Texas National Guard should be THERE — not in Illinois.

We stand ready to support their return home so they are best positioned for helping Texans respond to any natural disasters.

Fighting for workers' rights on this Labor Day. Hilton Americas needs to come to a fair agreement with its workers, represented by @unitehere.org . These are dedicated, long-time employees who are vital to our tourism industry.

Our local transit agency covers Harris County, with a board majority appointed by Houston. They have now agreed to commit a significant portion of their current $ to road reconstruction in Houston.

And by both population and area the service market is huge. You need an “all of the above approach” with everything from local circulator busses to more Park and Ride options.

And we have had local R elected officials who red-lined Houston from receiving federal transit $ long before the current Trump cuts. AFAIK, we are the only major city forced to build light rail with local $.

Limited options. I have a commitment to mass transit—three of the 4 segments of light rail were built and we did a lauded optimization of all bus routes on my watch as Mayor.
