Great day out campaigning in Frome Vale yesterday with our very own MP Damien Egan. Big shoutout to local musical artist and Frome Vale's very own band member Chezney Newman from the Fire Pit Collective who I bumped into along the way for a good chin wag. #supportlocalartists #LabourParty #Bristol

These cuts will impact the most vulnerable in our community and we need to send a clear message to the Greens that our libraries should not be on the chopping block.🌹

You can also get job and interview training and very importantly, free Internet access for those who need it the most. Growing up, the library was a form of escapism and also a place to get my homework done!

Many people don't realise that libraries don't only let you borrow books but also movies and even newspapers! Most importantly you can also meet your local councillors there ;)

Save Bristol's Libraries Libraries provide a crucial service to the city, not least for the worst-off. Our valued community spaces need to be protected and invested in. Libraries need more investment, not less. Sources: ...

Please make sure to sign this petition against the planned Green cuts and closure to Bristol's libraries. Libraries are a place of education, history, culture and community resources.

It's clear this isn't the green, progressive governance our city was promised. Labour as the opposition will continue to fight for a fairer budget that protects vital services and prioritises those who need help the most.

"A Budget That Would Make Thatcher Blush"

Key services and the most vulnerable in our community are set to bear the brunt of these severe Green cuts. From public transport to community support services, this budget will hit our city's most disadvantaged hardest.

School lollipop patrols face axe in Bristol City Council budget plans The local authority faces a Β£52m budget gap but the proposals would save just over Β£300,000

"Statistics show that children from the poorest households are 28 times more likely to be killed in roads compared with better-off youngsters. Kids in the most deprived areas are over five times more likely to be injured in motor traffic collisions than those in the least deprived areas."

Some of these residents are elderly and suffer from health conditions made worse with the flooding.

We call on Bristol City Council to implement these key recommendations that will positively impact the lives of local residents. 3/4

It has been awful for local residents who have to spend their winters enduring constant flooding which is entirely preventable if the proper safeguards such as proper drainage and flood gates were put in place. 2/4

I completely agree with Cllr Mohammed Malawi, why are these BT phone boxes being left in place when they are never used for their intended purpose? They are commonly used for drugs hot spots, public urination and vandalism. I'd much prefer a bench where people can sit and enjoy their communities.

On this day we honour the resilience of the Palestinian people, celebrate our heritage, and remind ourselves why we continue to stand in solidarity with their fight for human rights and self-determination.

This happened in Canada where they have now hit the point of legalising it for disabled people without terminal illness and it is actively being promoted which I think is plainly wrong. People with disabilities can live fulfilling lives if the government provides the necessary support for them.
