Another remark in the rejection letter ‘No identifications were possible despite the exhaustive effort of the military authorities at the time.’ It seems strange, when there a plenty of graves, which has so much information available, that we are able to identify them 100 years on

The rejection was received in late November 2024, so seating with them from over 5 years.

I submitted a case back in 2019, where the solder was found with the regiment and his number on his boots. Only yards, from two other who were identified by there boots in the 1920’s. This was rejected As numbers or names on equipment is not a sound basis on which to propose identification today.

@thegreatwargroup.bsky.social well it’s been over two months now and still I’ve not received my copy of the Loos edition of the Silent points. Can someone advise me, if my submission for Private James McLean of the Gordon Highlanders appears in it

Pte Shadrack Critchley, of the Cheshire Regiment received his orders for overseas and went on leave. He committed suicide by sticking his head, into the gas oven at home. But was found dead with his wife, in an embrace as they did not want to be apart

My local by-election, a turnout of only 46% and 6 votes in it and the top 2, only got around 12,000 votes each
