Sometimes the timing just isn't right and the work dries out before I can get to trimming it. Could I just place them all nicely in the bucket and it would break down just fine? Yes, but that's not a nice way to get some small frustration out and it's definitely not as #satisfying

Haha yeah patience is definitely needed. I have found using a mix of pulling just enough before sticking it down seems to work to keep it from bubbling. Definitely trial and error for sure

The tape is 1/16 of an inch so it bends easily on its own. I just have to make sure I'm not pulling or twisting too much and sticking it down really frequently

Newest design out of the kiln the other day! I am in love with this design and I will for sure be doing it again in the future
What glaze combos would you like to see? I want to do a #70s design with orange or yellow

It really is! I definitely need them but they sure test me haha

Wow that's awesome! I can't imagine the time it took to apply all of the glaze for those. It is the best feeling opening that kiln after glaze firing though

I really love clean designs using tape resists. The more contrast the glaze and the clay has, the better it is. Also, blue glazes of any kind

Glazing pottery is the worst part of the process

I have to paint on my glazes for cone 6 pieces and it takes so long. Who loves the process of glazing?

I love the way these bottles turned out. The way the first one has harsh angles but paired with a really flowy glaze is a perfect contrast. The other I leaned more into the angularity with the glaze application

This bowl did not want to be friends

I'm sure it cracked because it was too thick. You can see that with the first crack. Either way it is somewhat satisfying breaking these to recycle back into clay
