If you know teachers, then you would know they also work during the summer without pay.

Most teachers I know work more than the 180 days @7.5 hrs a day. I grade & answer emails in the evening and weekends, averaging 50 hrs/week, ie unpaid time. However, I could not do my job if I did not work those extra hours. Most of us do not have the luxury of leaving our work at work.
