Original resistance account for the NOAA. Not official account of NOAA but close enough we can forecast them. Weather geek. Boat driver. Former airman. Weekend redneck. Coffee: black. Kinda Grumpy. Go Walz! ๐ŸŒฎ

If this was visible light, then yes. But IR cameras work a little differently. You'll notice that the eyes also glow. Humans don't have tapetum lucidum like animals; but IR reflects off the retina. It depends entirely on how the the IR light (which is emitted from the doorbell) reflects due to angle

There are reflection strips built into those straps. They can.

He has no flashlight. The guy walks straight forward and you can see his mouth and hands.

Trump took those AT&T commercials in the 80s way to literal.

Where? I see reflections, not anything produced by a flashlight. Also, when a flashlight is pointed at a security camera in IR mode, it automatically detects the brightness... and switches to "color" mode (regardless of threshold).

But the even bigger clue... When you point a flashlight at a security camera in IR or "night mode", it automatically changes into visible or "color mode". This camera didn't do that, so no light was pointed at it.

I don't think the front porch boogieman is using a flashlight. I know it looks like that, but IR video reflects off things and can create that illusion. I think it's reflecting off a cap on a tooth, or maybe even just really white teeth. He has no flashlight in any other frames in the video.

He'll go home without a medal from the Olympics. But I wouldn't be surprised if Zelesnky awards him with a Order of the State medal (Hero of Ukraine) after this. That may not be medal he dreamed of all his life, but it's a much bigger honor.

Coal production has actually declined over the past year. And it's going to continue to decline. Most of the coal-fired power plants in this country are gone, not all but most. They demolished the units and switched to natural gas. Coal isn't coming back.

Prince and Wendy were both phenomenal guitarists (Wendy still is, that lady's fingers are so insane she has to be an alien).

Went to a music store yesterday to look for guitars for my kid. But had one of those "whose your fav guitarist" convos when the sales guy asked. In this order: Prince, Jimi Hendrix and Slash. Prince surprised him. How can you work in a guitar store and not know Prince? They're also Black guitarists.

GT40 MkII Lightweight Sells for $12.3 Million at Mecum Kissimmee

Less than a month ago a 1966 GT40 sold for $12.3M at auction in Florida. That has to be a a record for any Ford. It is a sweet car, but even if I had Elon's money I think I would have a hard time justifying the price.

Alternatively, the Japanese Coast Guard could have determined if the vessel was seaworthy, and if so, seized the catch and issued a large fine... when you arrest the captain and take the vessel it tends to make people angry. I suspect that was the point.

Japan seizes Chinese fishing boat off Nagasaki, arrests skipper
YouTube video by Reuters Japan seizes Chinese fishing boat off Nagasaki, arrests skipper

Chinese vessel here clearly in the wrong. When you're in another country's EEZ the coastal state has the authority to board and inspect. Noncompliance will get you into trouble you don't want. But this isn't going to help any with winning the hearts and minds of Chinese citizens.

They've already been deployed 8 months. They're going to do two more ocean crossings and a campaign in between. They'll be out more than a year.

I've done 8 months on a Panamax. We had ports, and I was still ready to burn a town down when that contract ended.

If you're going to get stuck in a long deployment, the Ford is one of the few ships you'd want to be on. They have some of the best food in the Navy, recreation areas (incl video games) and I think there's a dog onboard for pets too. But they'll end up doing a year at sea, even on Ford that's a lot.

As stated in the referenced article, the Ford's crew has been deployed for 8-months. Before crossing the pond again they should bring it home and at least rotate the ship's Company (perhaps not the air wing, as that would take much longer). Those sailors are going to be driven into madness.
