what material is it made of? (sorry, paywalled) it would be interesting to make an axicon array to create a tweezers-based lightsheet system
Oh wow. I know people here have THOUGHTS. Write them up & submit!!
I love that all essays have to be public before entering. This is exactly the type of conversation we need more of. (Also cash prizes + philanthropy is listening)
Now which on my list should I pick 🤔?

A wiki-style model seems more suitable in which some core is more or less stable and new results are added—allowing to assess the actual explanatory power of the core facts. Downsides are, of course, related to the possibility to track individual contributions and assign merits (IP also falls here).
In the era of the AI avalanche, I am not quite sure about the feasibility of the current model of sci publishing, where "core" intros are repeated with variations from paper to paper, and tracking all related papers is getting every day harder. (↓)
Amazing! Wh/I 1st saw it in 1993 no one had a clue wh/it would be done—"a few hundred years?" It's not done—the last planned part is expected to be finished in about 10 years—and I wonder if it will ever be "done." But it is, & even while under construction was, magnificent (even if Orwell hated it)

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail
Question: does anyone know about some "LLM-core facility" that provides "knowledge base" services to research labs? Would be great to learn more and have some feedback on the operation.

holy cow..
might be worth buying a machine and fine tune a system locally using your lab's knowledge base
what about pet owning?
hi, @anthropic.com! a research-related hack (not sure if already implemented): sources from the knowledge base can get summarized following specific research topics, and this resume can be used as the new kb. further iterations may require returning to some of the original sources (simil to MCPTS!)

appropriate naming will be a serious issue once the number of such models grow
