Trump Knew the Risk of Iran Blocking the Strait of Hormuz. He Still Went to War. The president told his White House team that Tehran would likely capitulate before closing the strait, the world’s most vital shipping lane.

No one who ever worked at senior levels of the Pentagon, State Department, or CIA would ever believe that career pros told Trump that invading Iran would be quick and easy or that Iran would not close the Strait.

As this WSJ article outlines, Trump obviously ignored all advice except his own.

Before the start of Trump's war, the president knew he was risking the shutdown of the world's most vital shipping lane—which would throw the world into chaos.
But the 79 yo real estate developer assured White House advisers that Iran would surrender first.
