One downside to being completely D&D obsessed is seeing tons of Dracula costumes and immediately thinking, "Strahd!"
So I actually have an intense fear of scorpions- just imagining them freezes me up. But when the campaign calls for an evil druid whose signature wild shape is a giant scorpion... I take a deep breath, and sob as I paint.
I think it turned out well given how shaky my hands were 😵💫

Had an amazing D&D session today! My players wanted to oust a cult from the town they've been living in, so they started a rival business to the cult's front (a brothel), poached the cult's workers, robbed the cult's safe, and then set their front business on fire.

4- Thus, this being of sadism and chaos sought out allies more aligned with good causes. After being ousted from one group after another due to his evil schemes, he finally found a group JUST chaotic enough to keep him around... And with this party, came an interesting new enemy: a man named Strahd.
3- He could neither harm nor threaten any who did not first harm or threaten him or a sworn ally. Thus, in order to carry out his twisted desires for bloodshed, he would have to learn to befriend others that had their own enemies... Enemies he could hurt after they attacked his new "friends".
2- Eventually, his sins caught up with him and he was thrown into a dark cell in a deep dungeon. It was then a patron finally sought him out- not a devil, but an Archfey. In return for his freedom, he agreed to a very strict pact, a leash on his sadistic urges.
1- He saw how those with enough power could do whatever they will, and he desired the power to do the same. He sought out Archdevil after Archdevil, but none saw use in such a rabid dog. He desired only murder and chaos, and there was no use in a warlock who would get himself slain seeking violence.
Working on improving it, but this is the cosplay for the warlock I play on my Thursday night Twitch streams.
His name is Volen. A Tiefling who grew up on the streets of Waterdeep, he resorted to cannibalistic scavenging to survive.
