the quickest way to turn a casual worrier into a hardened anti-vaxxer is to create negative polarization. PHG's point here is that *conversation and engagement* is a much more powerful tool in the vaccine wars than anger, ridicule, and dismissive generalizations.

I stopped watching VIX because the market insistence that everything was peachy keen left me with a really painful cognitive dissonance. I'm glad to see it's starting to wake up a little bit.

That is very very true. I guess I've revealed base assumptions.

We were able to build the old one because we were, in fact, the ones who held the social, economic and political capital to do so. I'm less convinced that the new world order that settles out after this will be one that we have a dominant say in. It may not be bad, but it won't be ours.

It's also how we've been bleeding Russia dry with Ukraine. It's not like this is just the stuff of generational memory, it's literally our current geopolitics.
