View of Lake Natoma dam from rocky hill in the rain, Daisy dog in pink raincoat running in the grass.
Training while it's raining. So much fun. The trails are little creeks and the mud and puddles are perfect for stomping. Daisy is not such a huge fan of the rain but she doesn't contain her excitement to just be running.

Never been a fan of “resolutions” or the like, but going to give Dry January a go in support of my ambitious 2025 race plans.

I am not yet used to the feelings of relating to my daughter as an adult living in the big city and going to college. She’s still the person I took care of for 18 years. So weird.

In the past, the California International Marathon #CIM has been my victory parade fun run to celebrate a productive year of training and racing (we don’t get a lot of crowds at ultras), this year it’ll have to be an advance on 2025.

My fashion stylist majoring daughter settled a decades long disagreement in our house-multicolored or white lights on the Christmas tree. The simplest answer: both.

My daughter is on her way home from college for the holiday for the first time and this is such a wonderful feeling of anticipation!

Riffing off Sidney Harris's iconic cartoon, my #CIM plan: Step 1-start the race; Step 2-"a miracle occurs"; Step 3-finish the race.
