I actually love women so much that I take the (surprisingly difficult for some people) opinion that we should not be subjected to space nazi romances or other hetslop that repackage and resell womens subjugation and oppression in a nice bow. I think women deserve better writing than that.

I'm ngl if we kept Gustave and his romance with sciel I would have been so happy with that. Gustave felt like such a breath of fresh air. A human being with a sympathetic backstory and a strong moral compass. Verso feels like an RPG protagonist with little depth.

But no one's gonna take you seriously as a creator if you can't handle the heat. Criticism is how we improve our craft. Criticism shows that people take your art seriously. People WANT to engage with your art beyond "OMG I LOVE IT."

If you want your art to be taken seriously, you need to be open to serious criticism. If you don't, then either don't post it to the internet or take the necessary steps to heavily curate your audience. If you write fanfic as a hobby, cool! That's great!

This may be a hot take but the fanfiction community is one of the most hypocritical ones out there. You can't demand people to take your artform seriously and then foster a culture where criticism is seen as rude and harassment.
