Just as with my friends, many of us now feel powerless and afraid. We don't recognize our nation. We're disoriented, vulnerable, anxious. Trump apologists call it "Trump derangement syn-drome," but the actual derangement is in and around the Oval Office. I don't think we're talking enough about the national trauma most of us are now enduring.

This is so relatable (as a child sex abuse survivor).
We are not experiencing “anxiety.”
We are experiencing a natural reaction to seeing our homeland slashed-and-burned!

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

So let’s say that you believe existing in the U.S. as an immigrant without a bunch of documentation is illegal (a construct I hate) since when does a nonviolent offense warrant violent break ins to your home, your property destroyed, and your children zip tied??

In the American system of government, a legislature of the people’s elected representatives decide how to allocate the people’s money, then an unelected appointee in the executive branch called “OMB Director” decides if he feels like distributing the people’s money that way or if he’d rather not.
