The old skirt was worn out where the fabric folds over at the edge of the waistband and started fraying, so I ran a zigzag seam around the edge. Didn't waste effort to make it more presentable as the skirt will soon need patching anyway.

This is the last blocking before I finish & put it on the frame. I’m thinking I’ll add 2 more rounds and likely bead the edge so it drops down over the frame arms like a 70s lamp.

Then I should write down what I did so I can do it again.

I remember I had to start them over multiple times because I basically made up the pattern as I knit. It turned out that the mouth of the cuff needed to be wider than most of it since it went so far up the arm, so small tapering wedges had to be knit at the beginning.

I'd started them last winter but somehow hadn't ended up knitting the last fingers. (Gloves are annoying that way.) Now they can stop haunting me. 👍

The carved patterns really are more visible in bright lamplight, but, you know, the ground outside is a much more romantic background 😋

I thought about painting the blunt side red so I could easily see which side is which, but forgot to do that before waxing the shuttle lol

I made the heddle with instruction but didn't have time to make a beater as intended, so instead I later made a shuttle on my own

Band heddle and matching shuttle, made using drills, carving knives, saw, and sandpaper. The heddle is pretty nice for a first try I think (I've made shuttles before). The shuttle has one sharpened long side so it can be used as a beater. #craftsky
