Yeah...but that's not how the elections played out, for example, Sanders first won in the house by winning a Democratic primary as a Democrat and then switching to Independent running only against a Republican, not a Dem. Then he was an incumbent, which is a different ball of wax.
Pretty rare event, and I can't think of an example. They usually just end up being a spoiler. In fact opposition donors often support third party candidates for this reason.

We need to change that. I don't know how to do that, but it must be done.
The reason is that the left's electorate is smarter and can deal with nuance and parse competing priorities, whereas the right likes someone who tells them what to think. As the saying goes, Democrats fall in love; Republicans fall in line.

The safety concerns for line workers are legit. Current emergency backup generators and grid tied solar requires an auto disconnect from the house to the utility in the event of power failure, as it should. That's a system requiring professional installation.

We need to re-frame politics for some folks. Normalize encouraging people to vote for the candidates they dislike the least so that the candidates they dislike the most don't get elected.
