I understand saying we’re cooked is not a good strategy to inspire people but I guess I’m just a little weird. I tend to find more comfort in more straight forwardness even if it’s not inspiring than encouragement to prevent despair.

It doesn’t have to be this way and you should try to do something. However It’s just to understand that saying we have to hunker down and wait for better material conditions seems to ring hollow. I’d rather have someone say we’ll try your best to survive but you may not get through this.

Think about the 1000 of BiPOC and queer people who have been tortured SA’ed and or killed by ICE before one Renee and Alex. Not to undermine their deaths but it took a lot of innocent death for one city to rise up.

Does that mean your change won’t contribute to anything? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll probably not see the oligarchs fall within our lifetime and when the people do rise up it’s because all of us were well buried in the ground decades ago before.

I think a lot of us want change to happen in our lifetimes when change happens so slowly and almost unrecognizable. People have lived and died only viewing the same societal paradigm hoping that they’d live to see the crown fall and don’t.

Infact, people in my local community and activists groups who have been following ICE’s whereabouts have seen black busses carrying people into the bases and Miramar (one of the biggest bases) denying that they’re holding anyone there.

Meaning ICE can easily hide an secure themselves with the city take people and secure them on these military bases

The problem is if you don’t know San Diego. It’s one of the only cities on the West coast where there are so many Military Bases within the City. The Navy is huge here.
