The first Figure of the paper, showing the longitudinal measurements of wastewater viral loads for Norovirus, Enterovirus and SARS-CoV-2. Also shown is the incidence of clinical cases during the same timeperiod. Arrows indicate when the stringency of non-pharmaceutical interventions (shown in panel B) either increased or decreased.

A great collaboration that would not have been possible without Shotaro Torii, Htet Kyi Wynn, Irene Voellmy, Michael Huber, @charliegan.bsky.social, @trj2.bsky.social and @viralexplorers.bsky.social

Diversity of lake bacteria promotes human echovirus inactivation | Applied and Environmental Microbiology Human enteric viruses in natural waterbodies pose a public health risk. Microorganisms, particularly bacteria, contribute to the inactivation of enteroviruses, thereby mitigating this risk. We use exp...

Today we published the first author paper of our late PhD student Andrii Romanenko. Andrii studied the role of microbial diversity in virus inactivation. I'm excited about this paper, and sad that Andrii is no longer around to see it published.
