I'm not arguing the historical details of the actual New Deal. I'm pointing out that progressive policies from the past - soc sec, unemployment insurance, collective bargaining, etc etc etc - demonstrate the power of a government working for everyone, not just the rich.

Especially since a case can be made for a better country thanks to progressive ideas.

The New Deal provides the precedent, so the facts are there. It really wouldn't be hard to sell if we actually had leaders bold enough to do it.
