AFTERWARDS yeah probably ren has doubts. because of how akechi seems to have vanished and also lavenza asks him about his regrets in that insanely concerning way. but there and then? no. ren trusted akechi to choose the future he wanted and akechi did and got a new persona about it. this was Good.

[normal voice] 2/2 isn’t sad. it isn‘t a tragedy. it’s a triumph, it’s a vindication, it’s an AWAKENING. it’s rejecting falsehood, rejecting manipulation, taking charge of your own future side by side. and they both know it and I don’t believe either of them has any doubts that night.

I like this because it turns Royal’s Akechi confidant route into Joker making an intentional decision to get closer to Akechi. And then so MUCH is just the same anyway. except this time they’re also doing All That.
