En el principio de este libro hay una dedicatoria a Fiona la hipopótamo del zoo de Cincinnati (si no conocéis la historia, buscadla. Nació muy prematura, y el hospital removió cielo y tierra para mantenerla con vida. Sigue viva a día de hoy). Dedicar un libro a un hipopótamo puede que suene a espacio desaprovechado o a chiste malo, pero lo cierto es que siempre me han fascinado las historias de los que sobreviven contra todo pronóstico. Creo que, para disfrutar de verdad de Carl el mazmorrero, a pesar de lo siniestras que se van a poner las cosas (y creedme que se pondrán muy siniestras), tienes que ser el tipo de persona que es capaz de aferrarse a la esperanza sin importar lo pequeña que esta sea. «No podréis conmigo» es algo más que un mantra, es el tema principal de toda la saga. Y, al dedicarle este libro a Fiona, también se lo estoy dedicando a todo lo que representa. La perseverancia. La determinación. La esperanza. A vosotros. Qué cojones… A todos nosotros, después de por lo que hemos pasado los últimos años.
Vale… Eso ha sonado algo sensiblero y demasiado intenso para una saga de libros que va sobre un tío que corre por ahí en calzoncillos. Pero ¿es verdad o no es verdad?

Y se acabó :) Hacía años que no me lo pasaba tan bien traduciendo algo. ¿Lo he dicho ya? Todo el mundo haciendo cola el 10 de julio para comprar esta maravilla de @mattdinniman.bsky.social.
