Letβs go! Winter may be just beginning but Iβm already dreaming of camping weather.
Wind advisories and high wind warnings will be in place for Thursday and strong winds are expected across the region. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph will be common while northern areas could see gusts approaching 60 mph! Maybe give the inflatables the day off!!

A winter weather advisory will be in place tomorrow afternoon into Saturday morning for areas along and east of highway 281. Light freezing rain/drizzle is expected to develop late tomorrow afternoon leading to slick road conditions.
It has been a mild start to the month of December with Kearney seeing 5 out of 9 days above normal. Despite cooler temps settling in the next few days, we are still favored to see above normal temps through the middle of the month.
Family is inside baking Christmas cookies. Iβm handling lunch on this remarkably warm December day.

Certainly on the chilly side of things this Thursday afternoon. Temperatures as we approach 5 PM only in the 20s and 30s for most. Warmer air returns as soon as tomorrow, I'll have the details coming up on NTV News First at 5.
Thanks to the end of the month cool stretch, November ended up with with 11 days of below normal temps compared to 10 above average. While December may be starting off chilly, warmer days are to come.
High wind warnings and wind advisories will be in place for Wednesday as NW winds could gust 45-55 mph for many with near 60 mph gusts possible in northern portions of the state.
Rain is winding down across the region but it certainly would appear many of us received a nice soaking rain. A look at the unofficial totals as of 9:40 PM including record breaking rainfall in at least Grand Island and Lincoln.

Some good news, some bad news on the drought monitor. Updated this morning we saw improvements in every category.....except we did see a slight expansion of extreme drought conditions. More rain chances on the way Monday so hopefully we keep chipping away!
What a beautiful fall day on this Thursday. 4 PM temps are in the 60s and we even saw North Platte hit 70 earlier! With light winds maybe you snuck in a quick round on the links! Winds are about to pick back up and by next week some drastic changes move in.
